Blog Catch-Up

Hello all! Hope everyone is doing well. Things have been busy as usual during the holidays and so far it hasn't slowed down much. Going through the pics to decide what to put on here was difficult with all the cute ones we took recently, so I may have to actually do more than one blog every 1-2 months to catch up! But, for now... this is a good place to start. The holidays were good. Devon's grandparents weren't able to come down this season, so we're postponing our "family Christmas" until May or so. But, it was exciting for us since this was the first Christmas Ella actually knew what was going on.

Lucky girl... I've lived in Texas my entire life and have had 3 "white" Christmases. Ella gets one on her 2nd one! It didn't last long, but was long enough to get some pics of her... freezing her little buns off.

Devon and I decided to start a new tradition this year. Ella has her very own "kid" tree to decorate every year. She had a blast going through the store picking her own ornaments. Of course, her chose girlie colors and fun decorative balls of all sizes. She love being able to turn it on every morning. She especially loved the LED star on the top! This was just a cute picture I decided to add. With all the family over this holiday season, Ella got the hint that setting the table was part of her new rountine. So, when she heard Mimi and Pop-Pop (Devon's parents) were coming over, she immediately grabbed the place mats and started helping. She's an awesome helper!

This year at work, our team was participating in an Adopt-A-Child program. My selected child was an 8-year-old girl named Jeannie. Her list was very short. She wanted a new coat, a journal, and a couple of board-games. Devon took time to make her a journal. I thought it turned out great! I wish we could have seen her open it, but I hope she liked it.

And speaking of being a big helper, Ella has gotten into the habit of "helping" the dogs eat. Both Dusty and Daisy are very gentle with her. It's too cute. Just had to add a pic in about it.

Well.... We have plenty of more pics and blogs to write about and also have a TON of big events coming up. We just attended Jackson's 3rd birthday party this morning and we'll make sure to cover that next. We also have a Super Bowl party, Valentine's Day, Devon's party, Jeremy's birthday, and Ella's 2nd party coming up in the next few weeks. Things around here never stop being exciting.... but we love it!
